To best study for the midterm, you should be able to do all the problems from the Set Theory and Logic review notes, any of our old homework problems, and any problems on either of the first two quizzes.
In addition, look at the following problems from the textbook:
Chapter 1 Test: #6-7, 10-12
Chapter 2 Test: #2-5, 13-15
Chapter 4 Test: #2-4, 9, 12, 13, 15
Chapter 5 Test: #1-2 (use either model), 3 (show these using one of the models), 6-9.
Addition/subtraction and multiplication/division of fractions: Be able to draw models for problems like these:
- 1/5 + 3/10 = 1/2
- 2/3 – 1/2 = 1/6
- 3/4 ÷ 9/8 = 2/3
- 4/9 x 15/8 = 5/6
